TIME:2024-01-05 16:31:12 Clicks:
The leading toy company in the 6-inch figurine industry has collaborated with Hasbro to launch a new series of comic character combinations themed on "Transformers", "G.I. Joe", "Power Rangers" and "Dungeons and Dragons", which will be launched next year. First launched globally. Arizona-based McFarlane Toys signs multi-year brand deal with Hasbro to develop Transformers, G.I. Joe, Power Rangers and Dragons and Dungeons" licensed products.
The deal centers on McFarlane's two-year-old Page Punchers series, which puts a comic book and two action figures in one package. Hasbro-branded Page Punchers will launch at mass and specialty retailers worldwide in the first quarter of 2024, starting with Transformers and G.I. Joe skus.
The company's eponymous CEO, Todd McFarlane, said offering value collectibles is an effective way to encourage kids to pick up and read more comics. The Page Punchers line is already producing licensed SKUs for DC and Netflix's Stranger Things.
Comics appear to be an increasing focus for both companies, having previously collaborated in June after McFarlane's Image Comics secured the rights to publish new Transformers and GI Joe titles.
